If you have set up two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Cowrywise account but no longer have access to the device you initially set up your authenticator app on, it is essential to disable 2FA and reconfigure it with your new authenticator app on your new phone.

To turn off 2FA on your Cowrywise account, follow these simple steps:

  • Click on your profile picture

  • Click profile

  • Go to Settings and select Security

  • Click the 2FA button to toggle it off

  • Enter your PIN

  • Select the “Yes, turn off 2FA” option

  • Enter the answers to your security questions

If you do not remember your security answers and need assistance with this, we got you!

You can send the following to have your 2FA deactivated;

  • A government-issued ID card (NIN slip, Voter's Card, Driver's License, International passport, or any other recognized government-issued ID).

  • A selfie of you holding the same government-issued ID.

  • A selfie of you holding a sheet of paper with today's date clearly written on it.
