Protecting your financial assets and transactions is paramount, and one essential step to fortify your Cowrywise account is by implementing two-factor authentication (2FA).

If you have recently encountered an "invalid token" error message when entering the token code from your authenticator app during a withdrawal, it may be due to incorrect device time and date settings, particularly for Android users.

To address the "invalid token" error, it is crucial to confirm that your device's time and date settings are accurate. Follow these steps to verify and sync your authenticator app's time to your device:

  1. Open your authenticator app and locate the options button (usually represented by three dots).

  2. Tap on "Settings" and look for the "Time correction for codes" option.

  3. Choose "Sync now" to synchronize your authenticator's time with your device's time.

Once you have synchronized the time, proceed to make another withdrawal attempt from your Cowrywise account. With the corrected time settings, you should no longer encounter the "invalid token" error.

If the issue persists, please follow these additional steps:

  1. Turn off 2FA on your Cowrywise app

  2. Delete Cowrywise from Google Authenticator

  3. Turn on 2FA again
