Funding your savings or investment plans on Cowrywise can be done with your debit card, direct bank transfers and using your virtual wallet on Cowrywise called Stash.

You can add your card either at the point of creating a plan or by following these steps;

  1. Β Tap on Payment from the Profile options.

  2. You will be charged ₦100 at the point of adding your card to verify the card. The amount charged will be credited to your savings plan.

Note: If you are a new user, it is advisable to add your card at the point of creating your plan.

What if I don't have a debit card or I'm having issues adding the one I have?

If you don't have a card or are having issues with your card, there are 2 alternatives;

  1. Bank Transfers

  2. Stash

The Bank Transfers option allows you to fund your plans with a one-time account number which is generated for you every time you need to add money to your plan. You can make payments to it via USSD or mobile transfers to directly credit your savings or investment plans.

Please note this account number expires after 20 minutes and should be used after the top-up is completed.

To use this option:

  • Select top up on the plan page you want to add money to if it's an already created plan or select the "just this once" option when asked how often you'd like to save if you're just creating the plan

  • Select bank transfer as your preferred payment method

  • Copy the account number and transfer that exact amount to it

The Stash is a virtual wallet on the Cowrywise app. The wallet icon on the bottom bar of the app will take you to the Stash page. You can receive funds from any bank account into your Stash account number via mobile transfers or USSD. Funds in your Stash can then be transferred to a savings plan, investment plan, another Cowrywise user or your own bank account.
