Your account security matters to us! If you suspect someone has access to your Cowrywise account or notice anything unusual, you can temporarily disable your account to restrict access while you sort things out.
Think of it as a first line of defence when something doesn’t feel right.
When should you disable your account?
You should consider disabling your account if:
Your email has been compromised: Since your email is linked to your Cowrywise account, unauthorised access to it could put your account at risk.
You’ve lost your phone: Especially if you’re unsure whether someone can access your apps, passwords or personal details.
You notice suspicious activity: This could be transactions you didn’t initiate, changes to your profile you didn’t make, or sign-in notifications from unfamiliar devices.
When should you NOT disable your account?
Disabling your account isn’t the solution to every account-related concern. Here’s what it doesn’t do:
Unlock your savings: You cannot withdraw from locked savings plans before their maturity date by disabling your account.
Delete your personal information: Disabling your account does not erase your details from Cowrywise.
Delete your account permanently: It only restricts access to your account temporarily.
For account deletion or other concerns, please contact our support team.
