Not getting an OTP sent to your primary device?

At Cowrywise, we have our obsessions. We are obsessed with the security of your funds and your financial growth. This ensures you can sleep well, knowing fully well that your account is secured and protected. One of the things we did to beef up our security was to introduce the option to register your primary device. Now, the primary device is the device our system recognises as the owner's device.

Ideally, you should receive an OTP on your primary device if you are trying to log into your account on another device. However, some situations could lead to you not receiving this OTP. The two major situations are:

  1. Change of primary device, in which case the OTP is being sent to the previous primary device.

  2. Uninstalling your app from your phone, in which case the system reads this action as a switch on the device.

Sorting this out is pretty easy, I promise.

If you are using the app, you simply need to click on the 'Try Other Options' icon at the bottom of the screen where you are expecting to input this OTP and follow the prompts to answer your security questions.

On the website, you can click on the 'Login with security questions' icon and follow the prompts to access your account.
